Edging for New Skis
This is where the foundation stone is laid for the joy of skiing.
Only a flat ski is easy to turn and safe on the piste. How much the edge is suspended on the base side depends on the area of use of the ski. Slalom skis of the top skiers are hardly suspended more than 0.5° from the shovel, while free skis and freestyle boarders choose 1.5° over the entire length.
In order to be able to grind the edge cleanly, the side cheek must first be reduced so that the steel edge can be filed down exactly. Again, the angle depends on discipline and riding ability. If you slide a lot, 86° does not necessarily have advantages.
